Slide 30
This is a photomicrograph of the blood smear of a patient with hemoglobin SC disease. There are peculiar, distorted cells in this field. The Hb S polymerizes into rods and the Hb C tends to form crystals. Not in this field, but in some on the slide there were true sickle cells. There is a tendency for other cells to form crystals, as we see here.
