Shown in Table 2 are the various monoclonal immunoglobulins and the frequency of their detection. It is impossible to predict on the basis of morphology what type of Ig the myeloma cells will produce. The more differentiated as well as the less differentiated cells can produce any of the Igs or their abortive components. Malignant monoclonal IgM paraproteins are generally limited to WM but are seen rarely in chronic lymphocytic leukemia or in malignant lymphomas. Monoclonal heavy chain diseases also have a clinical presentation different from that of MM. Light chain MM is similar to IgG or IgA myeloma but tends to be a more aggressive disease.
