Slide 19
This is a preparation of bone marrow from the same patient of slide 18, using the FAB-recommended assay (naphthol AS-D acetate) for identifying monocytes. Both monocytes and granulocytes contain the esterase, but monocytes have a greater amount. The cells with the heavy, blue granules are monocytes, and the cells with only a few blue granules are granutocytes.
