Slide 12
This is a hypocellular bone marrow. There is a small amount of fat but only a few cells. There are strands of fibrous material that may represent the ends of fibroblasts. These strands may be seen in any bone marrow specimen, even one that is hypercellular. If the specimen appears to be hypocellular in one area, other preparations should be checked.
